Wallet on Chain

Name: Chanel Wallet on Chain
Brand: Chanel

Catalogued July 2026

The Chanel Wallet on Chain, universally shortened to WOC, is a slim rectangular flap that combines a wallet and an evening bag on a long gilt-and-leather chain strap. It carries the house's signature diamond or chevron quilting and a front CC or Mademoiselle turn-lock closure, opening to card slots and compartments inside. Worn crossbody or held as a clutch, it is one of the most accessible ways into the Chanel flap family. The exact introduction date is not cleanly documented, with sources placing it between the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The four Chanel flap lines

You're on the Wallet on Chain line. Chanel makes four flap lines that look alike but close differently, and the closure moves the price more than the color.
