The Hourglass is Balenciaga's structured top-handle bag, introduced in 2019 under Demna, named for its sharply curved base that nips in at the sides. It has a rigid, architectural body with a squared flap, a large metal B logo on the front, and short top handles with an optional strap, most often in shiny box calf. Inspired by founder Cristobal Balenciaga's tailoring, it quickly became the house's signature modern bag.
