Saint Laurent introduced the Loulou in 2017 under Anthony Vaccarello, naming it for Loulou de la Falaise, the designer and confidante who was one of Yves Saint Laurent's closest muses for decades.

The Saint Laurent Loulou is a soft quilted shoulder bag introduced by Anthony Vaccarello in 2017, as part of his spring/summer 2018 collection, and named after Yves Saint Laurent's muse Loulou de la Falaise. It is defined by the oversized Y-quilting on supple leather and the large metal YSL Cassandre monogram on the front flap, hung from a chain-and-leather strap. The puckered chevron stitching gives it a plush, pillowy look. It became one of the house's most recognizable modern bags.
