The Hermes Herbag is a lightweight two-material bag pairing a canvas body with leather trim and a top flap, descended from a vintage Herbag of the late twentieth century that itself echoed the shape of the early Haut a Courroies. The modern Herbag Zip, reissued in 2009, uses a removable canvas body, a front toggle-and-buckle closure, and a saddle-like flap over a zip interior. It is one of the more casual and travel-friendly Hermes shapes. The year of the original Herbag is not cleanly documented.
