The Neverfull is Louis Vuitton's signature unstructured shopper tote, introduced in 2007. It features side laces/drawstrings that cinch to adjust width, a roomy open top with an interior hook closure, and is offered in three sizes (PM, MM, GM) and the house's coated-canvas lines (Monogram, Damier Ebene, Damier Azur) as well as leather and seasonal versions. A 2013 update ('New Model'/NM) introduced a detachable zipped pochette and expanded interior lining colors.

Louis Vuitton introduced the Neverfull in 2007 to compete with Goyard's popular Saint-Louis tote. The house wanted one bag that could do everything, and it went on to outsell its rival and become LV's best-selling tote.
The design drew on Louis Vuitton's 19th-century Navy and Laundry bags. Thanks to its seam construction, the Neverfull can be turned completely inside out for a different look.

The case for
It swallows a work laptop, a lunch and a gym kit and still weighs close to nothing empty. Owners reach for it on flights, on school runs and on errand days for exactly that reason.
The coated canvas takes real abuse. Owners six and ten years in still have theirs in weekly rotation, and the wear they report is scuffed corners rather than anything structural.
Two details owners rate more than they expected: The side laces change the silhouette in seconds, and the clip-in zip pouch works as a small bag on its own.
The straps are thin, flat and unpadded. Add a laptop and owners describe them cutting into the shoulder, which is the most repeated complaint about this bag by a wide margin.
The weak points are specific. Corners scuff, Damier Ebene strap leather is the one owners flag for cracking and peeling, and monogram vachetta darkens and water-spots if it is left untreated.
One flat pocket and nothing else. Owners call it a bottomless pit and most end up buying an insert to make it usable, so budget the organizer as part of the purchase.
Saturation is the live anxiety here, not craftsmanship. Owners describe airports where it feels like one in five women has one, and being quietly assumed to be carrying a fake.
Value is the sorest subject. Owners compare what they paid years ago with current retail, work out that the increases outran inflation, and say they would not buy it new again at today's number.
