The Gucci Jackie 1961 is a reissue introduced by Alessandro Michele in 2020 of the house's hobo-shaped shoulder bag from the 1950s and 60s, nicknamed for Jacqueline Kennedy, who was often photographed carrying it. It has a soft crescent body that tucks under the arm and its signature piston closure, a sliding metal hook clasp, on the front. It comes in smooth leather and GG Supreme canvas across several sizes. The 1961 in the name marks the archival year the reissue references.

Design
The Jackie is a half-moon hobo shape with a piston-shaped closure, looser and softer than the structured bags of its day. Jackie reportedly used its wide base to shield her face from the paparazzi.

As the story goes, in 1964 she walked into a Gucci boutique and left with six of the bags. Decades later Alessandro Michele brought it back as the Jackie 1961 at Gucci's Men's Fall 2020 show.
